How Many Recycled Pellets Were in the Jar?

At CAMEX Show that was held in Anaheim in March 2009, Four Point Products had a contest to guess how many pellets of recycled polyethylene were in the jar. The pellets are used in the making of our Poly Print ™ Natural Poly Binders that have 100% post-consumer recycled content. The three closest guesses will each receive the prize of $100 worth of our Poly Print™ Binders. We enjoyed meeting our old friends and making new ones at the show, and we would like to thank everyone who entered our contest.

The correct answer was 70,476 pellets.
The guesses in the contest ranged from 1,527 to 2,5000,000.

The winners of the contest are:

Rita Sullivan, Butler Community College Bookstore, El Dorado, Kansas.
Her guess was 72,000 pellets.

Lindsey Schulte, Nash Community College, Rocky Mount, NC.
Her guess was 75,500 pellets.

Beth Dickey, Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Her guess was 65,000 pellets.
