Cheeriodicals Packages - Smiles to Hospitalized Kids

May 5, 2016

While we at Vulcan Information Packaging (VIP/ATC) are in the business of helping businesses stand out with quality presentation materials that reflect their vision, every now and then, we get to feel even prouder than usual of the products and services we deliver. Cheeriodicals, a truly unique company based in Mt Laurel, just outside Birmingham, Alabama, helps groups and individuals send magazines, snacks, gifts, and toys to hospital patients to brighten their day. These personalizable care packages come in “big Green Boxes of cheer.” And guess who makes those Green Boxes for Cheeriodicals? We do!

Born of Mary and Gary Parisher’s desire to send Mary’s uncle fishing magazines when he was undergoing chemotherapy, Cheeriodicals eventually evolved into the philanthropically minded organization it is today. Both coming from pharmaceutical backgrounds, the Parishers realized that their Cheeriodicals idea could benefit hospitalized children in particular and began promoting corporate-sponsored team-building events to assemble these goodie-filled Green Boxes and deliver them to children’s hospitals around the country. Cheeriodicals events help companies achieve corporate social responsibility objectives and emotionally bond teams, all while giving back to local communities. Teams of all sizes gather to fill what B-Metro magazine describes as “a distinctive, upscale keepsake box” with gender- and age-specific toys, puzzles, games, magazines, and snacks then personally deliver them to area hospitals using the generously donated services of Two Men and a Truck.

While we put great care into everything we make at Vulcan Information Packaging, we really poured our hearts and souls into collaborating with the Parishers to design and produce custom packaging that would become synonymous with the brand—particularly important since the box would be the surprise-delivery vehicle and the first thing each patient sees. We feel that our sturdy lime-green box festooned with a colorful polka-dotted sash is indeed worthy of each one’s heartwarming contents. Brand cofounder Gary Parisher enthusiastically agrees: “Without these Green Boxes, I’m not sure what we'd do! They seem to be making a path ahead more and more every day.”

To date, dozens of national and global corporations have gotten on board with Cheeriodicals to make a difference in hundreds of ailing children’s lives. Two such clients who recently hosted Cheeriodicals events include Andersen Windows & Doors, North America’s largest window and door manufacturer, and global engineering giant Siemens. See for yourself how big-hearted employees from both companies came together and donated their time and resources to an extremely worthwhile cause:
